Supply Chain / Procurement

Michele Smith entered the oil and gas industry in 1987. She worked for a company based in Farmington, NM, manufacturing oil and gas production equipment for seven years. While employed with this company, she and her husband transferred to the Brighton, CO facility. This is when Michele began gaining knowledge in all things related to oil and gas. She was the office manager at this location, which included purchasing and selling all parts related to refurbishing production units. She continued in this role until 1995 and was hired at Leed Fabrication, where she was employed for 20 years. During her tenure at this company, she worked in many positions. This included purchasing, inventory control, HR, payroll, and accounting. During the last seven years of her employment at Leed, she was responsible for purchasing all things steel for the new production units Leed manufactured.

After leaving Leed, Michele was employed by Bentley Welding for two years and then moved to another local company that manufactured oil and gas production equipment. In 2022, she returned to Bentley Welding and continued her career in the procurement field.

Michele’s role at Bentley Welding is securing the best pricing and delivery to maintain a consistent flow of materials to meet our customers’ schedules. She prides herself on maintaining relationships with vendors and treating all with respect.

Michele spends life with her husband, daughters/sons-in-law, and grandchildren outside of work hours. She is very passionate about animals and has volunteered with Riverdale Animal Shelter (formally Adam’s County Shelter) for the last five years walking dogs.
